Your medical and vision care coverage reimburses an extensive range of expenses such as prescription drugs, paramedical services, hospital stays and eye exams. To customize your plan, you must choose between 4 statuses and 4 options.

The status you choose determines the amount of flex dollars you are entitled to and influences the cost of your coverage.
Options
To meet your specific needs, the medical and vision care component is flexible, meaning that you have 4 options to choose from.
WSP pays a portion of the medical costs and provides you with flex dollars so you can select the option that suits you best. If the cost exceeds the flex dollars offered by WSP, you will pay the difference via payroll contributions. There is a nominal cost for the travel option if you choose the couple, single-parent or family status.
If you choose the Core, Balanced or Enhanced option, you will benefit from coverage for semi-private hospital stays, travel insurance and trip cancellation as well as coverage for psychologists and other mental health specialists up to $10,000. Expenses for prescription drugs, ambulance transportation, labs and other paramedical services are also covered but at different levels of reimbursement based on your selected option.
Core
Expenses reimbursed at 70% after a deductible on drugs and some paramedical services. Travel insurance included. No vision care.
Balanced
Expenses reimbursed at 80%. Travel insurance included. Eye exams included.
Enhanced
Expenses reimbursed at 90%. Travel insurance included. Glasses/contact lenses and eye exams included. Higher maximums and extended list of health professionals' services.
Travel only
You can opt out of medical and vision care only if you are covered under another private insurance plan (e.g. your spouse's employer plan). You will still benefit from travel insurance and trip cancellation.
