The following changes are allowed at all times:

  • Contribution amount to my savings accounts
  • Investment selections
  • Choice of optional life insurance, optional accidental dismemberment insurance and optional critical illness insurance
  • Beneficiary designation
The following changes are allowed during the annual re-enrolment period:

  • Choice of option (Core, Balanced, Enhanced or Travel only) for medical and vision care
    • Increase your coverage
    • Decrease your coverage (one level of option only) when you are outside the lock-in period
  • Choice of option (Preventive, Balanced, Enhanced or Opt-out) for dental care
    • Increase your coverage
    • Decrease your coverage (one level of option only) when you are outside the lock-in period
  • Add or remove the Long-term disability indexation option
  • Add or remove dependents
  • Increase payroll contributions to obtain additional flex dollars
  • Review your flex dollars allocation
  • Buy 1 to 5 additional vacation days

  • The flex dollars amount is based on the status you choose for medical and vision care.
  • If you change your status under medical and vision care, your flex dollars amount will change. If you wish to cover your newly eligible spouse under medical and vision care, your flex dollars allocation will be adjusted, and you will be allowed to change your flex dollars allocation.

Note: the change must be requested within 31 days of the event.

  • Expenses incurred after the date indicated in your departure letter will not be reimbursed.

  • You will receive a termination letter from the insurer giving you options to transfer your money. This letter is typically mailed 4-6 weeks after your departure date.
  • You will have 90 days from the date of the letter to make your selections or default options will apply.

  • You can sell your shares or transfer them to a broker. If you sell your shares, you can either withdraw from the account or transfer to a RRSP or TFSA account outside of our plan.
